GRS 1741.9-2853 中 I 型 X 射线暴的发现

首次在与 GRS 1741.9-2853 的天空位置一致的位置探测到 X 射线暴，GRS 1741.9-2853 是一个 GRANAT 暂现源，仅位于银河中心约 10' 处。在 1996 年 8-9 月对 Sgr A 区域进行监测观测期间，BeppoSAX 卫星上的宽视场相机望远镜共观测到 3 次暴。这些事件的特征与 I 型暴一致，从而将该源确认为一个可能的含中子星的低质量 X 射线双星。其中一个观测到的暴中存在超爱丁顿光度引起的光球半径膨胀的证据，由此估算出源的距离（约 8 kpc）。
