利用 SkyMapper、Pan-STARRS1 与 WISE 发现两颗明亮 z~5 类星体

我们提出利用 SkyMapper 南天巡天、Pan-STARRS1 以及宽视场红外巡天探测器(WISE)的成像数据搜寻明亮的 z~5 类星体。我们采用 WISE 结合 SkyMapper 光学波段、或以 Pan-STARRS1 光学波段作为替代,选出两组候选体,限制星等为 i<18.2。我们对若干候选体进行了光谱后续观测,发现两份列表共有的四个候选体均为类星体,而其余候选体则为冷星。这四颗类星体中的两颗——红移 z=4.86 的 SMSS J013539.27-212628.4 与 z=4.94 的 SMSS J093032.58-221207.7——为新发现,并位列已知 i 波段最明亮的十余颗 z>4.5 类星体(QSOs)之中。
