从环双星吸积变率发现的周期类星体中的候选双超大质量黑洞

摘要

双超大质量黑洞(BSBH)预期是等级式星系形成的普遍副产品。BSBH 的最终并合被认为是响度最高的引力波(GW)警笛,然而在 GW 主导的 regime 中尚无确认的 BSBH。尽管周期类星体已被提出作为 BSBH 候选体,但周期性的物理起源在很大程度上仍不确定。在此我们报告在一个红移 1.53 类星体 SDSS J025214.67-002813.7 的光学光变曲线中发现了一个周期性(P=1607±\pm7 天),其显著性为 99.95%(考虑别处寻找效应后的全局 p 值约 10310^{-3})。结合存档的 Sloan Digital Sky Survey 数据与新灵敏的 Dark Energy Survey 成像,总计约 20 年的时间基线跨越了观测到的 4.4 年(静止系 1.7 年)周期性的约 4.6 个周期。光变曲线最佳由环双星吸积盘流体动力学模拟所预测的突发模型拟合。该周期性很可能由发射 GW、与环双星吸积盘动力学耦合的毫秒差距 BSBH 的吸积率调制引起。突发流体动力学变率模型在统计上优于由相对论性多普勒增强预期的平滑正弦模型,后者是为 PG1302-102 提出的运动学效应。此外,变率振幅的频率依赖性不利于多普勒增强,为环双星吸积变率假说提供了独立支持。鉴于我们在 625 个类星体中从环双星吸积变率检测出一名 BSBH 候选体,这表明未来大型灵敏巡天如 Vera C. Rubin 天文台 Legacy Survey of Space and Time 可能能够检测到数百至数千个来自环双星吸积的候选 BSBH,对 Laser Interferometer Space Antenna 具有直接意义。
