本文简要综述了在神秘物理搜索中计算上限及宣布发现所涉及的统计问题。由于样本数量较少且仪器不确定性显著，需特别考虑。描述了在计算上限或发现时处理仪器或理论不确定性的方法。 presented 了实现这些方法的软件。简要讨论了分析切割的优化以及灵敏度的定义问题。
