Muon-Deuteron Deep-Inelastic Scattering中Dihadron Transverse-Spin Asymmetry

摘要

2022 年,COMPASS 合作实验对穿过透镜聚变 deuteron (6LiD) 靶的深层电子性 muon-scattering 进行半包容性测量。从这些数据中,使用 oppositely charged hadron 的成对提取出横向自旋依赖的 dihadron 不对称性。这些不对称性直接敏感于夸克 transversity 分布,为对这些基本量的独立把握提供了相对于 COMPASS 测量的 Collins 不对称性的独立途径。本结果显著改进了之前的 COMPASS deuteron 测量结果,后者是全球唯一可用的 deuteron 数据,并且达到了与 COMPASS 现有质子结果相当的统计精度。在较大的 Bjorken-x 处观察到一个小但非零的不对称性,与理论预期一致。从点提取出的价值夸克 transversity 分布尤其是对 d 夸克 transversity 的确定性显著提高。这些测量代表了对夸克横向自旋结构完成映射的重要一步。
