摘要
早型星系（椭圆星系和透镜星系）的许多基本性质，只有通过超越其常被研究的中心区域，进入其大半径的晕区才能获知。运动学示踪物观测的进展使得早型星系晕得以被越来越深入地探测。本综述聚焦于角动量和暗物质含量的近期发现，并讨论了其对星系结构和形成的一些可能启示。
