利用数据确定磁激变变星中吸积白矮星的质量

摘要
从RXTE档案中提取了20颗磁激变变星(mCVs)的光谱，使用Cropper等人的X射线连续谱方法拟合，以确定每个系统中吸积白矮星的质量。结果发现这些mCVs的质量分布与孤立非磁白矮星显著不同，mCVs中的白矮星偏向更高质量。尚不清楚这一效应是由于选择效应所致，还是反映了母体种群间的真实差异。
