我们开展了多个项目，旨在确定近距离星系的准确距离，以校准星系距离尺度。具体而言，我描述了DIRECT项目，该项目旨在使用脱离双星星和巴德-韦舍尔金方法对Cepheids星系的距离进行直接测量。我还提出了一种“混合”方法，通过地面天文台进行图像减法发现Cepheids星，然后利用 HST进行跟踪，以推导Cepheid周期亮度距离。
