顶夸克宽度的测定

摘要
我们利用D0合作组在Tevatron质子-反质子对撞机上收集的、积分亮度高达2.3 fb^-1的数据,通过单顶夸克产生的t道截面测量了部分衰变宽度Gamma(t -> W b),并通过ttbar事件测量了分支比B(t -> W b),从而提取出顶夸克的总宽度Gamma_t。结果为Gamma_t = 1.99 +0.69 -0.55 GeV,对应的顶夸克寿命为tau_t = (3.3 +1.3 -0.9) x 10^-25秒。假设存在高质量的第四代b'夸克以及四代夸克混合矩阵的幺正性,我们在95%置信水平上设定了|Vtb'| < 0.63的首个上限。
