利用南极望远镜数据探测宇宙微波背景中的B模偏振

摘要
宇宙微波背景的引力透镜效应会在观测到的偏振中产生旋度模式。这种“B模”信号提供了整个可观测宇宙投影质量分布的测量,同时也是测量原初引力波信号的污染源。本文中,我们利用南极望远镜偏振敏感接收器(SPTpol)的首季数据,首次探测到引力透镜B模。我们结合SPTpol测量的E模偏振和Herschel-SPIRE宇宙红外背景图中的透镜势估计,构建了透镜B模信号的模板。我们将该模板与SPTpol直接测量的B模进行比较,发现非零相关性,显著性为7.7σ。该相关性的振幅和尺度依赖性与理论预期一致,对分析选择具有稳健性,构成了这一强大宇宙学观测量的首次测量。
