NGC 6388深处 HST 光度测量：年龄与水平分支亮度

我们利用胃太空站望远镜获得了首个到达NGC 6388星团主序终点位置的颜色-星等图（CMD）。通过将星团CMD与47 Tucanae进行比较，我们发现该星团中绝大多数恒星与47 Tucanae在年龄和化学成分上几乎相同。然而，我们的结果表明，NGC 6388中的蓝色水平分支和RR Lyrae成分在本征亮度上显著高于其他星系，这必须归因于一个或多个尚未确定的非典型第二参数所致，这些参数仅影响NGC 6388中相对较小比例的恒星。
