基于GEM的TPC原型机在Ar-CF4-异丁烷混合气体中的宇宙射线测试

摘要

氩气与CF4的混合物因其漂移电子横向扩散小(尤其在强磁场下),被认为是未来直线对撞机实验中时间投影室(TPC)气体混合物的良好候选。为确认该气体混合物相对于传统TPC气体的优越性,我们使用基于GEM的TPC原型机,在0-1 T轴向磁场下,主要于Ar-CF4-异丁烷混合气体中进行了宇宙射线测试。本文给出了所测量的气体特性(如气体增益和横向扩散常数)以及观测到的空间分辨率。
