CALICE模拟强子量能器原型的建造与调试

摘要

CALICE合作组成员建造了一个厚度为5.3个核相互作用长度的模拟强子量能器(AHCAL)原型。该AHCAL原型由38层钢板与高颗粒度闪烁体瓦片的夹层结构组成,闪烁体瓦片通过波长位移光纤耦合到硅光电倍增管(SiPM)进行读出。信号由定制设计的专用集成电路(ASIC)进行放大和成形。开发了一套基于LED光的校准/监测系统,用于监测SiPM增益并测量完整的SiPM响应曲线,以校正非线性。最终,物理目标是研究强子簇射形状并检验粒子流概念。技术目标包括测量7608个SiPM的性能和可靠性。该AHCAL在DESY和CERN的测试束流中进行了调试。整个原型于2007年完成,并在CERN和费米实验室的测试束流中记录了不同能量和入射角下的强子簇射、电子簇射和μ子。
