由 GW150914 约束拓扑 Gauss-Bonnet 耦合常数

摘要

基于 GW150914 数据的近期引力波观测证实了霍金面积定理,并估算了两个 Kerr 黑洞并合过程中总视界面积的增加量。我们利用这一结果以及第二定律的有效性,得到了 4 维拓扑 Gauss-Bonnet 耦合常数的首个观测界限:γ2.8041.169+7.946×109m2\gamma \lesssim 2.804^{+7.946}_{-1.169} \times 10^{9}\, m^2,置信度为 95%95\%
