守恒定律与原子的激光冷却

摘要

直接将能量和线性动量守恒应用于原子对光子的吸收/发射,可以确立低激光强度下二能级原子激光冷却的基本特征。原子可达到的最低平均动能取决于自然线宽与反冲能量之比 Γ/ER\Gamma/E_R,并且当 Γ\Gamma 趋于零时趋向于 ERE_R。这种处理方法与量子力学处理方法一样,适用于 Γ/ER\Gamma/E_R 的任何值,并包含了 semiclassical 激光冷却理论作为 ERΓE_R\ll \Gamma 时的极限情况。

The dimensionless parameter $B_D$ have been redefinied as $\Gamma/\Delta E_M$ (instead of $\Gamma/2\Delta E_M$) in order to avoid a factor of two when compared with a similar parameter used in literature. Consequently, some equations have been rewritten and some figures modified accordingly. Of Course, the physics does not change. Some minor changes aimed at improving the clarity of the text
