摘要

谱线强度映射(LIM)是一种追踪宇宙时间内星系全局性质的新技术。探测来自红移一氧化碳(CO)(恒星形成示踪体)的极微弱信号,推高了全功率仪器可行性的极限。CO Mapping Project (COMAP) Pathfinder是第一代仪器,旨在证明概念并为未来实验开发技术,同时产出早期科学成果。它在10.4 m天线上采用六边形焦平面排布的19个接收机通道,瞬时频率范围26-34 GHz、分辨率2 MHz,非常适于测量z3z\sim3的CO(JJ=1-0)。本文中我们讨论设计和建造Pathfinder的策略及遇到的挑战。仪器设计优先满足LIM需求而非辅助科学需求。经过几年运行,仪器已被充分理解,第一年数据已产生有用的科学结果。该Pathfinder的经验将驱动下一代实验的设计。
