球状星团中巨星的 Johnson-Cousins UBVRI 测光与 CIT 系统上的 JHK 测光相结合，为 M3、M5、M13 和 M92 等球状星团中的巨星产生了颜色序列。UBVRI 数据同时展示了金属丰度较高的疏散星团 NGC 6791 中巨星的数据。这些数据填补了文献中的空白，尤其是 R 和 I 波段。我们提供了不同 [Fe/H] 值下宽波段颜色的经验关系。U-B 和 B-V 的颜色序列对不同 [Fe/H] 值显示出明显的分离。我们还发现了 V-R、V-I 和 J-K 颜色的弱金属丰度依赖性，尽管出乎意料。H-K 对金属丰度不敏感。上述颜色作为 V-K 的函数绘制，并给出了文献中的 (V-K) - T_eff 关系。
