气体巨行星的雾霭晨曦与晚霞

摘要

星体大气的光谱受到不确定来源的气溶胶(云和雾)的影响。 proposed 的气溶胶形成机制包括气体凝结或光化学反应。我们测量了潮汐锁定的气体巨行星 WASP-94A b 的传输光谱,并识别出其大气中的不对称性。清晨侧的大气较冷且含有云,而傍晚侧的大气较热且显示出气态 H₂O 吸收特征。我们将这种差异解释为云滴在清晨侧附近形成,而在气体循环到傍晚侧时蒸发。主要气溶胶是云,在大气的日侧和夜侧之间循环,而非光化学雾。 resulting 的不对称性可能严重偏向化学丰度测量,除非可获得 limb 分辨率光谱。
