CHIMPS2:巡天描述与银心区12CO发射

摘要

最新一代银道面巡天正增强我们研究星系环境对恒星形成过程影响的能力。我们呈现了CO外差内银河系平面巡天2(CHIMPS2)的首批数据。CHIMPS2是一项将使用James Clerk Maxwell望远镜(JCMT)上的Heterodyne Array Receiver Program,以12CO、13CO和C18O (J = 3→2)发射观测内银河系、中心分子区(CMZ)及外银河系一部分区域的巡天。此处呈现的首批CHIMPS2数据是对CMZ在12CO J = 3→2方面的初步观测,覆盖-3°≤ ℓ ≤ 5°且 |b| ≤ 0.5°,角分辨率15角秒,速度分辨率1 km s^{-1},在这些分辨率下rms ΔT_A^* = 0.58 K。此类对CMZ的高分辨率观测将成为未来研究的宝贵数据集,同时补充现有银道面巡天如SEDIGISM、Herschel红外银道面巡天和ATLASGAL。本文中,我们讨论巡天计划、当前观测与数据,并呈现该区的位置-位置图。位置-速度图在吸收与发射中均探测到前景旋臂。
