Kiso 紫外过度星系特征

摘要
我们检查了 Kiso 紫外过度星系 (KUGs) 的一般特征.我们首次给出 KUGs 判别准则的定量表达式;分离 KUGs 与非 KUGs 的边界颜色为 (B-V)_{T} = 0.74,且 KUGs 的紫外强度程度与平均 (B-V)_{T} 颜色呈相关.我们探讨了 KUGs 的本质,这一蓝色星系群,并指出:(1)约有半数的 KUGs 为 Sb 到 Scd 类型的螺旋星系,(2) KUGs 偏向后类型星系,并包含拥有年轻星族的早型星系,(3) KUGs 主要出现在较不显著的星系中,其 log L(B) < 10. KUGs 还包含后灭爆 star 系统,其中许多位于中等红移处的蓝色星系群中.远红外数据分析表明,KUG 的典型现在-过去星系形成率为 0.4.
