CHANCES：智利星系团演化巡天——星系团和超星系团的选择与初步表征

摘要
CHANCES（智利星系团演化巡天）将研究从本地宇宙到的100个大质量星系团内部及周围的星系演化，以及两个在处、每个包含约25个Abell星系团的超星系团。CHANCES将使用VISTA 4米望远镜上的新型4MOST光谱巡天设施，获取约500,000个星系（）的光谱，从而对每个星系团提供直至的全面光谱覆盖。其广泛而深入的覆盖范围将追踪从周围纤维状结构和星系群到星系团核心的矮星系和大质量星系。这将有助于研究星系预处理以及环境演化对星系演化的作用。在本文中，我们介绍并表征了CHANCES将观测的星系团和超星系团样本。我们使用基于X射线发射和Sunyaev-Zel'dovich效应的文献目录，以统一的方式定义星系团样本，并关注星系团质量和红移，以及辅助数据的可用性。我们校准了来自不同巡天的文献质量估计，并为每个星系团提供了初步的质量估计，用于确定4MOST覆盖的径向范围。我们还基于redMaPPer红序列算法，初步评估了这些星系团周围的结构，作为CHANCES将实现的部分科学目标的预览。
