直接测量 Ceder 变量的直径，用于校准 Barnes-Evans Ceder 表面亮度关系。来自四个不同光学干涉仪的 59 组 Ceder 直径测量用于计算作为亮度与星等和颜色的函数的表面亮度。Ceder 表面亮度与颜色的线性拟合与 Fouque & Gieren (1997) 使用非变动巨星和超巨星的干涉观测所得函数一致良好。利用这些关系可计算至 delta Cephei 的距离，该星系已知来自三角分角距。本文中该关系计算得到的距离与之前已发布的关系计算结果相差 4%，但仍在组合误差范围内。两种距离都在由三角分角距所得误差范围内。
