摘要
我们报告了安装在 RHIC 的 STAR 实验中的缪子望远镜探测器 (MTD) 的时间分辨率和空间分辨率。穿越 STAR 探测器的宇宙射线缪子平均横向动量为 6 GeV/c。由于其多重散射极小,这些宇宙缪子为校准探测器以及测量其时间和空间分辨率提供了理想工具。获得的数值分别约为 100 ps 和 1-2 cm。这些数值与通过宇宙射线台架测试和测试束流获得的数值相当。
