摘要
快速射电暴(FRBs)是明亮的毫秒级射电暂现源,在 600 MHz 频率下,对于 5 Jy ms 的暴发能量阈值,全天区每天约出现 1000 次。FRBs 的射电辐射物理及这些事件中涉及的致密天体是激烈讨论的课题。为了更好地约束源模型,台湾喧闹宇宙射电巡天望远镜(BURSTT)被优化以发现和定位大量稀有的、高暴发能量的、近距离的 FRBs 样本。这一群体最适合进行多信使、多波段后续观测,从而更深入地理解源机制。BURSTT 将提供从地平线到地平线的全天区覆盖,半功率视场(FoV)约为 deg,在 300-800 MHz 之间具有 400 MHz 的有效带宽,并利用距离主阵列数百至数千公里的远端站实现亚角秒级定位。最初,BURSTT 将使用 256 个天线。在对各种天线设计进行测试并优化系统性能后,我们计划扩展至 2048 个天线。我们估计 BURSTT-256 每年将探测并定位约 100 个明亮的(100 Jy ms)FRBs。BURSTT 大视场和连续运行的另一个优势将是对 FRBs 重复性的极大增强监测。当前缺乏灵敏的全天区观测可能意味着许多重复性 FRBs 目前被编目为单事件 FRBs。
