BL Lac星系宿主星系的蓝色颜色

我们利用近红外和光学成像来研究BL Lac星系宿主星系的颜色特性。我们发现，BL Lac宿主星系的R-H颜色和颜色梯度分布远宽于正常椭圆星系，且许多天体具有非常蓝色的宿主星系和/或陡峭的颜色梯度。蓝色颜色最可能由近期星形成引起。然而，缺乏明显的相互作用迹象，可能需要星形成事件与核活动开始之间存在显著的时间延迟。
