WMAP 提供了整个天空的 CMB 图。原始数据受到前景污染的影响，特别是靠近银河平面的区域。已导出前景净化图，例如本杰明等人采用内线性组合 (ILC) 的图以及特格曼等人采用减去前景的 TOH 图。我们采用 S 统计量检验前景净化图中是否残存前景污染。特别是，我们指定哪些部分的前景净化图对于圆形-在-天空信號的匹配测试足够准确。我们推广了 S 统计量，称为 D 统计量，使得圆形测试能够处理排除天空污染区域的掩模 (mask) 的 CMB 图。
