第三届关于标准模型之外粒子物理学会（BEYOND THE DESERT'02 - Accelerator, Non-accelerator and Space Approaches）于 2002 年 6 月 2 日至 7 日在芬兰奥尔尔附近的北极圈地方向举行。这是 BEYOND 会议系列首次在德国之外举办（CERN Courier 2003 年 3 月刊，第 29-30 页）。 BEYOND 会议的科学程序始于 1997 年（参见 CERN Courier, 1997 年 11 月刊，第 16-18 页），涵盖了现代粒子物理学几乎的所有主题。
