摘要
Geant4 是由高能物理领域的物理学家和计算机专业人员开发的用于模拟粒子通过物质的工具包。开发束流工具的动机是将 Geant4 应用扩展至加速器物理学。虽然存在许多用于束流物理仿真的计算机程序，但 Geant4 能够对穿过物质或集成到复杂探测器系统的束流进行建模。在当前国际高能物理计划中，诸如未来神子工厂、线性发生器以及非常大型强子对碰撞器的研究，都有许多实例。
