类轴子粒子的振荡

摘要

弦论紧致化可能产生许多与电磁弱耦合的轻类轴子粒子(ALPs)。一般而言,可能存在大量 ALPs,其中某个线性组合具有潜在可观测的与电磁的耦合。仅有一个 ALP 与电磁耦合的基一般与质量基不对齐。这导致“电磁”ALP 与若干不直接与光子相互作用的“隐”ALPs 之间的混合。该过程类似于中微子振荡。我将讨论这种混合对天体物理 ALP 信号的现象学后果,特别指出它可能显著降低诸如 CERN 轴子太阳望远镜等实验中的预测信号。
