具有球状星团第二代类似化学模式的反常贫镁银河系场星

摘要

我们报道了由阿帕奇点天文台星系演化实验(APOGEE)观测到的11颗反常银河系(MW)场红巨星的奇特化学丰度模式。这些反常巨星表现出强烈的Al和N增丰以及C和Mg贫化,与所谓球状星团(GCs)中的第二代(SG)星所观测到的模式惊人地相似。值得注意的是,我们在大多数(5/7)金属丰度较高([Fe/H]≳ -1.0)的样品星中发现低Mg丰度([Mg/Fe]<0.0)伴随强烈的Al和N过丰,这与银河系内相似金属丰度的GCs中SG星的实际观测相悖。这种化学模式在MW恒星中独一无二且前所未有,对其起源提出了紧迫问题。这些反常星可能是已溶解GCs的前SG星(其形成时Mg本征丰度较低且Al富集,随后被大质量AGB星自污染),或是奇特双星系统的产物。我们推测,这些星的Mg缺乏以及轨道性质表明它们可能具有河外起源。该发现应指导未来对银河系内反常恒星化学模式的专门光谱搜寻;这是理解银河系形成与演化的基本一步。
