摘要
我们总结了在 2006 年举办的 IAU 普拉斯学会数据管理专题会期间的主要贡献。尽管近年来在天文数据获取方面取得了巨大进步，Virtual Observatory 旨在为天文学家提供对在线资源的无缝访问，但仍需更加关注资源质量和完整性。例如，望远镜产生的数据并不总是提供给天文学界，新的仪器有时在数据管理方面的规划不足，而许多宝贵的遗留数据常常 remains undigitised。期刊发表的数据和结果并不总是出现在数据中心，发展中国家的天文学家有时对在线资源的访问不足。为此，制定了《天文学家数据宣言》，旨在启动讨论，最终发展出天文数据管理行业最佳实践准则。
