最近启动的阿雷西博L波段馈源阵列(ALFA)脉冲星巡天旨在发现约1000颗新的脉冲星。由于其高时间分辨率和频率分辨率,该巡天对毫秒脉冲星尤为敏感,这些脉冲星有潜力检验引力理论、探测引力波并探测中子星的状态方程。在此我们报告初步分析的结果:在最初几个月里,我们发现了21颗新的脉冲星。其中之一,PSR J1906+0746,是一颗年轻的144毫秒脉冲星,处于一个高度相对论性的3.98小时低偏心率轨道中。这个2.61 ± 0.02太阳质量系统预计将在约300 Myr内并合,并对计算出的致密双星系统宇宙旋进率有显著贡献。
