我们报告了 SDSS J131326.89-001941.4 的发现，这是一颗超贫铁红巨星（[Fe/H] ~ -4.3），具有非常高的碳丰度（[C/Fe]~ +2.5）。该天体是此类稀有恒星中的第五颗，其相当低的有效温度（Teff ~ 5300 K，增强了谱线吸收）与其亮度（g=16.9）相结合，使得利用斯隆数字巡天（Sloan Digital Sky Survey）的低分辨率光谱测量钙、碳和铁的丰度成为可能。我们在无金属大质量恒星预测产量的背景下考察了这颗恒星及其他类似天体的碳铁丰度比，并得出结论认为它们是一致的。相比之下，具有同样低铁丰度但碳铁比较低的恒星则偏离了理论预测。
