对核子自旋结构的完整认识在于也必须关注夸克的横向旋旋分布，即横向旋旋，这一点尚未被探索，因为其呈现奇异性。从 (spin) 不对称数据中提取它的策略代表了一个探索核子更广泛横向旋旋结构以及夸克内部横向动量动力学的独特机会。本文对其中一些最有前景的方法进行了批判性综述。
