ADF22:[CII]谱线发射体的盲探测被证认为假信号

摘要

我们报道了阿塔卡马大型毫米波/亚毫米波阵列(ALMA)在SSA22的ALMA深场(ADF22)中对红移z~6的两个候选[CII]发射体进行的第5期(Cycle-5)后续观测。这些候选体是在一项第2期(Cycle-2)ALMA巡天中通过盲探测发现的,该巡天覆盖约5平方角分,采用单次调谐,同时探测到与较低红移星系相关的两条CO谱线。多项检验表明,这两个信噪比大于6的[CII]候选体中至少有一个应当是可靠的(Hayatsu等人,2017)。然而,我们新的、更深的观测未能重现任一候选体,表明其污染率高于预期。假探测的成因正在调查中,但目前仍不清楚。
