在背景类星体光谱中看到的阻性赖伯-α系统通常被认为是当代星系的高红移对应物。我们总结了关于阻性赖伯-α系统中重元素丰度的观测结果。还 presenting了使用10米Keck望远镜对17个阻性赖伯-α系统进行系统性搜索CO和C II*吸收的結果。后者为理解阻性赖伯-α星系[C II] 158微米发射强度提供了有用的约束。希望这些结果对使用现场建造的下一代仪器进行未来红外到亚毫米波观测高红移星系有所帮助。
