R-CrA 星形成区中一颗年轻双星棕矮星

摘要
我们报告了对 dM8 超低温棕矮星 DENIS-P J185950.9-370632 在 R-CrA 星形成区的成像与光谱观测，使用 HST (WFPC2、ACS/HRC 和 STIS)、VLT (FORS2) 和 Keck (HIRES)。670.8 nm 处的锂吸收和强 H-alpha 发射 indicate a young age and a sub-stellar mass。我们的差分受限图像解析出一颗伴星，分离度接近 HST/ACS 的极限 (~0.06")。LW2 滤镜 (5.0-8.5 微米) 中 2.1 mJy 的通量来自红外空间望远镜 (见 1999A&A...350..883)，可能对应红外超级发射，暗示环星际物质的存在。测量的proper motion、光度以及 H-alpha 活动确认了 DENIS-P J185950.9-370632 属于 R-CrA 星形成区的成员。如果经进一步观测确认，DENIS-P J185950.9-370632 将是迄今为止观察到的第一颗吸积的亚恒星双星系统。
