ALMA 的射电观测与 Fermi LAT 对伽马射线流量的上限已排除相对论电子对宇宙微波背景辐射的逆康普顿散射（IC/CMB）作为六个类星星 3C 273、PKS 0637-752、PKS 1136-135、PKS 1229-021、PKS 1354+195 和 PKS 2209+080 延展喷流 X 射线辐射起源的可能。此处我们考虑延展喷流每个 knot 中两族加速电子，以通过相对论电子的同步辐射冷却解释射电至光学与 X 射线辐射。在所有情形下所需喷流功率低于爱丁顿光度，且观测到的 knot 辐射在此情形下得到很好解释。
