从斯隆数字巡天第五年数据中分辨出的月尺度暂现“变脸”活动星系核

我们报告在红移z=0.2603的类星体SDSS J162829.17+432948.5中发现一例新的“变脸”活动星系核(CLAGN)事件,该事件由第五次斯隆数字巡天(SDSS-V)的重复光谱识别。2020–2021年间拍摄的光学测光显示g波段戏剧性变暗g1 mag,随后在数月时间尺度上快速恢复,其中2个月的再增亮周期被新的SDSS-V与Las Cumbres天文台光谱捕获。这是迄今观测到的最快CLAGN转变之一。档案观测表明该天体在2011–2013年间经历了远为平缓的变暗。我们的光谱显示测光变化伴随类星体连续谱与宽线发射的剧烈变化。源在凹陷前后测光与光谱外观的极好一致性,以及最暗光谱可通过将单一消光律应用于较亮光谱态而重现的事实,支持视线方向可变遮挡作为观测转变的驱动因素。此种解释面临若干理论挑战,因此不能排除替代的吸积驱动情景。该类中星体近期事件凸显了在数周至数月尺度上对大样本活动星系核进行光谱监测的重要性,而这正是SDSS-V旨在实现的。
