一颗超大质量的海王星尺寸行星

摘要

海王星尺寸行星展现出广泛的组成与密度,取决于与其形成和演化历史相关的因素,例如距宿主恒星的距离和大气逃逸过程。它们可从具有厚氢-氦大气的较低密度行星,到具有大量水或岩石内部及较薄大气的较高密度行星,如 HD 95338 b、TOI-849 b 和 TOI-2196 b。在热海王星沙漠(靠近宿主恒星、海王星尺寸行星匮乏的区域)中发现系外行星,为行星系统的形成与演化提供了见解,包括该区域本身的存在。本文中我们展示了凌星行星 TOI-1853 b 的观测,其半径为 3.46 ± 0.08 地球半径,每 1.24 天绕一颗矮星公转。该行星质量为 73.2 ± 2.7 地球质量,几乎是迄今已知任何其他海王星尺寸行星的两倍,密度为 9.7 ± 0.8 克每立方厘米。这些值将 TOI-1853 b 置于海王星沙漠中部,并意味着重元素主导其质量。TOI-1853 b 的性质对常规的行星形成与演化理论提出了难题,并可能是若干原行星碰撞或初始高偏心率行星向母星迁移的最终状态的结果。
