寻找两体μ子衰变信号

摘要
通过搜索TWIST合作组分析的5.8×10^8个正μ子衰变事件中的μ^+→e^+X^0衰变,检验轻子家族数守恒。对无质量和有质量X^0玻色子的产生设定了限制。该实验的大角度接收允许对各向异性的μ^+→e^+X^0衰变设定限制,这种衰变可能来自同时违反轻子味和宇称守恒的相互作用。对于质量为13-80 MeV/c^2且具有不同衰变不对称性的玻色子,分支比限制在10^{-5}量级。对于质量小于13 MeV/c^2的玻色子,不对称性依赖性更强,分支比的90%置信上限高达5.8×10^{-5}。这是首次明确评估各向异性两体μ子衰变限制的研究。
