快速射电暴 (FRBs) 是来自其他星系、物理起源未知的极亮闪光 (Petroff et al. 2019)。大多数 FRB 仅被观测到一次,而另一些则重复闪烁但呈 sporadic 性 (Spitler et al. 2016, CHIME/FRB Collaboration et al. 2021)。许多模型认为磁星(高度磁化的中子星)是产生 FRB 辐射的引擎 (Margalit & Metzger 2018, CHIME/FRB Collaboration et al. 2020)。最近,CHIME/FRB 宣布发现了 (Bhardwaj et al. 2021) 重复 FRB 20200120E,其来自邻近的宏象旋涡星系 M81 的方向。彼时发现了四个其他观测波长的潜在对应体 (Bhardwaj et al. 2021),但无法与这些源或 M81 作出确定关联。本文我们报告了对 FRB 20200120E 的极高精度定位,使其可与 M81 星系系统中的一个球状星团 (GC) 相关联,并置于距该 GC 光学质心约 2pc 偏移处。这证实了 (Bhardwaj et al. 2021) FRB 20200120E 比任何其他已知河外 FRB 近 40 倍。由于此类 GC 寄居年老恒星族,该关联强烈挑战了将核心坍缩超新星中形成的年轻磁星作为 FRB 辐射能源的模型。我们转而提出,FRB 20200120E 是一颗通过白矮星吸积诱导坍缩或双星系统中致密星并合形成的高磁化中子星 (Margalit et al. 2019)。涉及在球状星团内高效形成的致密双星系统的其他情形,也可能对观测到的暴负责。
