Møller与Compton电子束极化仪的新颖比较

摘要

我们对基于Møller散射和Compton散射的电子束极化仪进行了一次新颖的比较。在杰斐逊实验室C厅的Q_weak实验期间,于低束流(<5 μA)下进行了一系列电子束极化测量。这些低流强测量被常规高流强(180 μA)运行的Compton极化仪测量所包围。所有测量结果在1%或更小的实验不确定度内一致,表明电子极化不显著依赖于束流强度。这一结果增强了人们对将低束流下进行的Møller测量应用于更高束流下物理实验这一常见做法的信心。两种基于独立物理过程的极化测量技术之间的一致性,为未来要求极化测量精度优于1%的精密不对称性测量设定了一个重要基准。
