光泵浦氦-3自旋过滤器产生的中子束绝对极化测量

摘要

精确测量中子束极化的能力为基础中子物理和中子散射领域开辟了许多令人兴奋的机会。在LANSCE脉冲中子源上,我们使用光泵浦极化氦-3自旋过滤器和相对透射测量技术,在40 meV至10 eV的中子能量范围内,以0.3%的绝对精度测量了中子束极化。氦-3采用铷自旋交换方法进行极化。我们描述了测量技术,展示了我们的结果,并讨论了与该方法相关的一些系统效应。
