使用平坦几何的相对论燃烧理论对中子星被奇异物燃烧进行分析。我们发现，这种燃烧可能既非缓慢燃烧也非简单爆破。某些情况下，可能发生无爆破的快速燃烧，但这涉及非常高效的热传递机制。然而，发现燃烧最可能是绝对不稳定的，没有明确定义的燃烧前沿。
