摘要
在过去三十年中，数据库自然语言接口的设计取得了相当大的进展。这些工作大多涉及快照数据库，其中仅提供有限的操控时间变化信息的功能。数据库界对时序数据库越来越感兴趣，时序数据库对时间相关条目提供特殊支持。我们开发了一个用于构建时序数据库自然语言接口的框架，借鉴了逻辑和语言学中关于时间现象的研究。我们框架的核心部分是一种类逻辑的形式语言，称为TOP，能够捕捉广泛英语句子的语义。我们实现了一个基于HPSG的句子分析器，将大量涉及时间的英语查询转换为TOP公式，并制定了一个可证明正确的过程，将TOP表达式翻译为TSQL2时序数据库语言中的查询。通过这种方式，我们建立了一条从英语到通用时序数据库语言的可靠路径。
