摘要
位于30至50 AU之间的太阳系小天体通常被称为海外天体(Trans Neptunian Objects,TNOs)。具有巡天能力的远红外(FIR)任务,例如前瞻性的低温孔径大型红外空间望远镜天文台(CALISTO;Goldsmith et al. 2008),首次提供了真正探测TNOs及相关种群的潜力,可探测到中等大小,并延伸至距太阳超过100 AU的距离。
