普通椭圆星系中稀缺的暗物质

摘要
我们利用行星猎手望远镜对三颗中等亮度椭圆星系外层的运动学进行了研究。发现这些星系的速度色散轮廓随半径下降;动力学建模表明,这些星系的星系 halo 中几乎没有或没有暗物质。这一意想不到的结果与其他星系类型的研究结果相冲突,挑战了当前的星系形成理论。
