Steele等人（1998）的Be星样本显示，其v sin i分布随光度而异，其中giant星的投影旋转速度低于dwarf星。我们表明，这一现象可以简单地通过在dwarf演化为giant期间的角动量守恒来理解。在此类天体中，任何喷流盘或其他角动量损失机制，必须在Be相位生命周期内损失不超过约15%的星体角动量。
