通过准周期外流揭示的双黑洞系统案例

摘要

包含一个围绕超大质量黑洞运行的致密天体的双星被认为是引力波事件的前身,但其识别极具挑战性。在这里,我们报告了X射线吸收中的准周期变化,我们将其解释为来自一个先前低光度活动星系核在爆发后的准周期外流(QPOuts),该爆发可能由恒星潮汐瓦解引起。我们根据观测特性排除了几种模型,而是使用广义相对论磁流体动力学模拟表明,间隔大约8.3天的QPOuts可以用一个中等质量黑洞次级在平均距离约为主黑洞100倍引力半径的轻微偏心轨道上解释。我们的工作表明,QPOuts可能是识别中等/极端质量比双星候选体的新方法。
